He has served several roles such as Chairman and Trustee, Independent Director, and Chief Investment Officer for many companies and trusts throughout his tenure, including The Howard Hughes Corporation and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. During his 29-year career in the apartment business, he has been responsible for the development, acquisition and operation of over $40 billion of apartment communities in over 50 different cities across the United States. Mr. Sellers is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Multi-Housing Council. He was named as 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year in real estate for the Rocky Mountain Region by Ernst & Young. Mr. Gifford joined AIG Global Real Estate as President and Chief Executive Officer one year after the U.S. Government took an equity interest in AIG. In this role, Mr. Gifford executed on both the wind-down of $20 billion of legacy real estate assets under management, including retail and mixed-use development projects and the subsequent strategic rebuilding of their real estate investment platform, committing over $2.5 billion of equity to $7.5 billion of new real estate projects, with a focus on development and value-add acquisitions. Prior to joining AIG Global Real Estate, Mr. Gifford was a Principal with AEW Capital Management, L.P. (AEW) where he led a team in creating and implementing an opportunistic investment strategy targeting value-add real estate acquisitions and development, including retail and mixed-use properties. Mr. McCabe has been a Managing Partner at Blum Capital Partners since September 14, 2012 where he is responsible for overseeing and managing global real estate related investment initiatives, focusing on distressed debt, opportunistic equity investments and structured investments in public securities. He is also Managing Partner at Montgomery Street Partners. Prior to Blum, he had a 20-year career with JPMorgan, where he held several positions in the Investment Banking division where he was responsible for originating and executing over $250 billion of transactional activity and managing a $500 million annual revenue business, including direct oversight of a $10 billion credit and lending principal investment business. Mr. McCabe is a Member of Advisory Board at the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics at the University of California, Berkeley and is an Executive Council Member of the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center and REIT Investment Funds Advisory Board for the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas, Austin. Greg Henry is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aspen Heights Partners. He presided over the development, financing, and construction of over $1.7 billion worth of student housing and multifamily real estate in projects nationwide. Under his leadership, Aspen Heights has become one of the premier brands in the student housing industry by delivering innovative products and a unique resident experience. Prior to founding Aspen Heights in 2006, Mr. Henry owned and operated a residential development and construction company in Northwest Arkansas. In 2007, he sensed the housing industry had become frothy and made the timely move into the recession resistant industry of student housing, as a consequence by 2008, during the historic economic crisis, he was one of few developers still able to secure deals and grow the business. Since then he’s demonstrated a unique ability to anticipate subtle market shifts and respond creatively. Mr. Henry also teaches entrepreneurship at the highly ranked Socratic Acton MBA program (ranked #1 on Princeton Review’s 2014 list of “Most Competitive Students”). Russ Murphy is Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer of Aspen Heights Partners. Since the company’s founding, Mr. Murphy has been committed to driving innovation and corporate culture that has resulted in the successful development, financing, and construction of over $1.7 billion worth of student housing and multifamily real estate in projects nationwide. Mr. Murphy has been in senior level positions for over fifteen years and has spent the past ten years focusing on real estate development, construction and acquisitions. His diverse background consists of Executive level positions as well as sitting on multiple boards. Russ has started as well as invested in multiple nonprofits, held consulting positions with small to mid-size companies. Russ has been involved in acquiring small businesses and invests in startups. His passion for our non-profit, Aspen Heights Awake, inspired him to take on the leadership of Chairman of the Board. Brad’s experience includes over 15 years of multifamily development. This includes experience managing sourcing, development, and construction of over 3,600 multifamily units with a total capitalization of $490 million. Brad started his career as a financial analyst with Credit Suisse in New York and also served in development and finance roles with Carmel Partners, a San Francisco-based private equity firm managing over $2 billion in discretionary equity capital focused on multifamily value-added investments and new development. He also served as a Managing Director at Trammel Crow Residential then transitioned to serve as Vice President of Multifamily Development at Forestar Group, Inc. for 6 years. Joel Heikenfeld is responsible for Aspen Heights Partners’ financing activities across the company’s various real estate investment platforms. During his 10 year tenure at Behringer Harvard, Mr. Heikenfeld capitalized in excess of 25M square feet of office, multifamily, hospitality, retail, and industrial projects consisting of over $6 billion of total deal capitalization consisting of construction, permanent, mezzanine, and bridge financing along with joint venture and preferred equity.

Reporting to Dan Fuchs, Gregory Dandrea leads the Asset Management group at Aspen Heights Partners, and is responsible for business plan execution across the company’s portfolio of development projects and assets under management. Mr. Dandrea provides strategic direction and oversight throughout the life cycle of each property. He and his team also manage Aspen Heights Partners’ investor relationships – preparing and reviewing reporting, and serving as a single point of contact for all deals after closing. Prior to joining Aspen Heights, Mr. Dandrea was a Vice President of Multifamily Development at Forestar, an Austin-based real estate firm, where he lead efforts to source, design, capitalize and construct urban infill and suburban multifamily projects in Charlotte, Atlanta and Houston. Todd Gaines is a Vice President of Development in the Austin office of Aspen Heights. He oversees the development and design of all new student housing construction activity for the company.
Prior to joining Aspen Heights, Gaines was the Houston and Central Texas City Director for Wood Partners, where he was actively involved in the development, design, and financing of more than 2,500 units valued in excess of $400 million.
Prior to joining Wood Partners, Gaines was an attorney with Houston-based Dabney & Pappas, where he focused on real estate litigation in addition to a broad range of civil matters.
Gaines holds an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business; a J.D. from South Texas College of Law, where he was a member of Law Review; and a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University. He serves as a member of the Advisory Council of the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center at the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business, and is also an active member of the Real Estate Council of Austin and ULI -Austin.
